Tinubu Unveils 2027 Campaign Council: Full List of Appointees Including Yari, Oshiomhole, Gbaja and Others

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled the full membership of its 2027 presidential campaign council, ahead of the upcoming general elections in Nigeria. The list, released on Saturday by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, outlines key appointments across various strategic departments designed to coordinate the party’s nationwide campaign efforts. At the helm, former Zamfara State Governor Senator Abdulaziz Yari has been appointed Director-General, with Senator Adams Oshiomhole serving as Deputy Director-General in charge of mobilisation. President Tinubu himself remains Chairman, while Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda serve as Vice Chairmen.

The campaign structure includes multiple deputy directors overseeing regional and functional operations. Senator Godswill Akpabio leads as Deputy Director-General for South I, while Senator Bamidele Opeyemi handles South II. In the North, H.E. Mai Mala Buni is Deputy Director-General for North I, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas for North II, and Senator Barau Jibril Barau for North III. Femi Gbajabiamila, President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, has been named Deputy Director-General for Administration. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma takes on the role of Secretary to the council, with Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru as Deputy Secretary and Hadiza Bala Usman as Assistant Secretary.

Zonal coordinators have also been assigned to ensure effective outreach across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. These include Senator Bassey Otu for South-South, Governor Ndubuisi Mbah for South-East, Babajide Sanwolu for South-West, Umar Bago for North-Central, Senator Modu Sheriff for North-East, and Uba Sani for North-West. The council features specialized roles such as Director of Finance, led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Director of Fundraising, held by Governor Dapo Abiodun. Other critical positions include Director of Policy and Manifesto Development, Dele Alake; Director of Legal Affairs, Muiz Adeyemi Banire SAN; and Director of Media and Strategic Communication, with Mohammed Idris Malagi, Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga, and Lanre Isa Onilu sharing coordinating responsibilities.

Security, data management, youth and women’s mobilisation, and sector-specific engagement are all covered under dedicated directorates. Notable appointees include General Sarki Yaki as Director of Security and Intelligence, Dr. Bisoye Coker as Director of Data Management, and Betta Chimaobim Edu as Director of Women Mobilisation. Faith-based mobilisation is handled separately for Christian and Muslim communities, with Rt. Rev. Stephen Tunde Victor Adegbite and Sheikh Haliru Maraya leading their respective teams.

The council also includes representation from labour unions, special duties, protocol, and community support mobilisation, ensuring broad-based coordination. With this comprehensive structure in place, the APC aims to strengthen its grassroots presence and enhance voter engagement across states. As Nigeria prepares for the 2027 elections, the appointment of these experienced political and administrative figures signals a strategic push to consolidate party unity and maximize electoral success.
