Governor Alia Urges Massive Turnout at APC Primaries for Tinubu

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to actively participate in the 2027 presidential election by voting for President Bola Tinubu as the party’s flag bearer. The call was made during the gubernatorial direct primaries held at RCM Primary School in Ihugh, Mbadede Council Ward, on Thursday. Governor Alia, who was accredited for the event, emphasized that Tinubu’s re-election is crucial to building on the progress made in infrastructure, economic reforms, job creation, security, and governance.

Alia highlighted President Tinubu’s achievements, including expanded infrastructure projects, renewed economic policies aimed at attracting investment, and efforts to improve job opportunities across the country. He also pointed to the administration’s focus on enhancing security and strengthening governance structures as key reasons why Tinubu deserves another term. The governor believes these developments are vital for Nigeria’s long-term stability and growth.

In addition to supporting Tinubu’s re-election, Governor Alia pledged to engage with APC members and aspirants who lost in recent contests for the Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly. He assured them of a platform to remain within the party and contribute to its success in future elections. This move is seen as an effort to maintain party unity and prevent internal divisions that could weaken the APC’s electoral chances.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the turnout at the gubernatorial primary, describing it as a strong mandate from the people. He emphasized that the participation demonstrated the people’s confidence in the party’s leadership and vision for Benue’s future. Alia also reiterated his commitment to transforming Benue into a model state, promising that his administration will deliver significant development over the next eight years.

“I can assure you that by the time I am through with my eight years in office, Benue will become a state everyone would want to visit,” Alia declared. He added that the progress seen so far is only a fraction of what he has planned, noting that he started from ground zero and has already laid solid foundations for sustainable development. His vision includes improved roads, better healthcare, enhanced education, and economic empowerment for all residents.

As the 2027 elections draw closer, Governor Alia’s call for unity and support for President Tinubu is expected to influence APC’s strategy in Benue and beyond. His leadership in the state and active role in party affairs position him as a key figure in shaping the party’s electoral fortunes in the region. The coming years will test both his administration’s ability to deliver on promises and the APC’s capacity to maintain cohesion across its ranks.
