Bindow Returns to APC in 2027 After Resigning from ADC

Former Adamawa State Governor Mohammed Bindow has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC), re-registering as a party member in his ward in Mubi, Adamawa State. The event, held on a vibrant Saturday, drew thousands of supporters, political allies, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to welcome him back into the APC fold. His return marks a significant development in Nigerian politics, especially within the North-East region, where Bindow remains a prominent figure.

The re-registration was witnessed by Alhaji Ahmadu Guruja, Chairman of the Mubi APC chapter, and confirmed by APC chieftain Ayekooto Akindele. Speaking after completing the formalities, Bindow explained that his decision followed extensive consultations with trusted political associates and confidants. He emphasized that his return aligns with his long-standing commitment to party discipline and his firm stance against any form of anti-party activities.

Bindow also revealed that he had discussed his decision with his brother and close political ally, Vice President Kashim Shettima, before finalizing his move. He recalled a recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu, describing it as cordial and memorable. According to Bindow, the President expressed genuine happiness over his return to the APC family, underscoring the warmth and unity within the party leadership.

In his address, Bindow endorsed all APC candidates for upcoming elections and pledged his full support for the party’s success at the polls. He stressed that his return is not motivated by personal ambition or a desire to create division within the party. Instead, he said he aims to strengthen the APC, unite its stakeholders, and contribute meaningfully to its electoral victories across Nigeria.

This move comes after Bindow formally resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on August 1, 2026. His departure from the ADC had sparked speculation about his political future, but his return to the APC signals a clear realignment with the ruling party. As a seasoned politician with deep roots in Adamawa politics, Bindow’s presence is expected to bolster the APC’s campaign efforts in the state and beyond.

His return is seen as a strategic boost for the APC ahead of critical elections, particularly in the North-East, where political dynamics are often influenced by regional leaders. With his experience and influence, Bindow is poised to play a key role in mobilizing support and consolidating party unity. His re-entry into the APC underscores the party’s continued efforts to maintain cohesion and expand its political footprint across Nigeria.
