Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly rejected his defeat to skit maker Carter Efe in the Chaos in the Ring 4 boxing event held in Lagos, alleging manipulation and unfair judging. Speaking during an emotional Instagram Live session shortly after the bout, Portable accused the organisers of bias and claimed the fight was rigged against him. He demanded his share of the stream money, estimated at N200 million, warning that he would take further action if not paid. The singer expressed deep frustration, saying he was “robbed” and that his punches were not properly counted despite landing several blows.
Portable accused Carter Efe of using his height and long arms to strangle him during the match, arguing that any strike, even to the shoulder or hand, should have been counted. He also criticized the judges and spectators, claiming they ignored his efforts and allowed the taller fighter to dominate unfairly. “They did ojoro for me. All of you are mad,” he said, expressing disbelief at the outcome. He further questioned why the organisers paired him with someone who had a clear physical advantage, suggesting the match was set up to ensure his loss.
Despite his anger, Portable shifted focus to his personal life, revealing that his wife had recently given birth to a bouncing baby boy. He emphasized that the birth of his child meant more to him than any championship belt. “You can only buy a belt with money, but a child cannot be bought,” he stated. He added that the N23 billion he claimed was owed to him could not compare to the joy of fatherhood, underscoring his emotional state and priorities.
The fight took place at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event in Lagos, where Carter Efe was declared the winner by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 27–30 in his favour, ending Portable’s reign as celebrity boxing champion. Prior to the match, Portable had confidently predicted a victory, stating he would “use you to collect my third belt” after previous wins over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington. Carter Efe had countered with a bold challenge: “One punch and you fall.”
In the ring, Carter Efe leveraged his height and reach to control the pace, landing cleaner punches across all three rounds. His performance earned him the title of new celebrity boxing champion. The event has sparked widespread debate, with fans and followers divided over the fairness of the decision. As Portable continues to voice his grievances, the controversy may influence future celebrity boxing events in Nigeria. The outcome also marks a significant moment in the evolving landscape of Nigerian entertainment and sports crossover.
