The Osun State Police Command has arrested two suspects over an alleged burglary and theft case, recovering several stolen items in the process. The suspects, identified as Eyelade Anuoluwa, 27, and Abdullah Musa, 28, were apprehended following a coordinated intelligence-led operation. The incident occurred on July 26, 2026, when Anuoluwa allegedly broke into the residence of a complainant in Osun State, stealing valuables estimated at ₦3 million.
According to the police statement released by DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, spokesperson for the Command, the stolen items included an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, an iPhone 12, an Android phone, two power banks, and recharge cards. These items were reportedly taken during the nighttime burglary, which was reported by the victim shortly after the incident. The police noted that the crime was uncovered through effective surveillance and community intelligence gathering.
Anuoluwa was arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, by operatives from the Ilesa Area Command. He was immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further questioning. During interrogation, he confessed to committing the burglary and admitted to selling some of the stolen goods to a receiver. Police investigation revealed that part of the loot had been transferred to Ibadan, prompting a follow-up operation.
As a result, officers from SCID conducted a targeted raid and arrested Abdullah Musa, 28, also in Ibadan. Musa confessed to receiving some of the stolen property, including an iPhone 12, which he purchased from Anuoluwa for ₦25,000. He is currently under investigation for his alleged role in a syndicate involved in the trafficking of stolen goods. Authorities believe he may have been acting as a middleman or fence for the stolen electronics.
Items recovered from both suspects include an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, a Samsung phone, a mini DP charger, two power banks, a 16GB Apple iPad, and a scrap phone. These items are being verified and cataloged as evidence. Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Zungura commended the investigative team for their swift action and professionalism in dismantling the criminal network.
The Osun State Police Command emphasized that investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals possibly linked to the crime and to recover any remaining stolen property. Both suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation. This arrest underscores the police’s commitment to tackling property crimes and ensuring public safety across the state.
