Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), has dismissed claims by Datti Baba-Ahmed that he cannot improve Nigeria if elected president, asserting that his track record as governor of Anambra State proves otherwise. In a recent interview on Arise News, Obi emphasized his ability to bring transformative change to the nation, citing his achievements in governance, anti-corruption efforts, and economic development during his tenure in Anambra.
Baba-Ahmed, a former aide to Obi and prominent political analyst, had earlier stated that none of the leading candidates for the 2027 presidential election, including Obi, could effectively fix Nigeria’s deep-rooted challenges.
