Delta 2027: Oborevwori Confirmed as APC Governorship Candidate

Oborevwori added that the primary marked a significant shift from past political traditions, where due process was often ignored, leading to tension and conflict. “For the first time in Delta State, our primaries were conducted peacefully without violence, crisis, or loss of lives. Nobody imposed candidates on the people. The people freely chose those they wanted,” he declared.

Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa echoed this sentiment, saying the turnout reflected widespread support for Oborevwori’s administration. Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, also affirmed that the governor’s emergence was a clear sign of confidence in his leadership. Other APC leaders, including Hilary Ibegbulem, Ndudi Elumelu, Jonathan Ukodhiko, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, Francis Waive, and Solomon Areyenka, praised the peaceful conduct of the exercise and expressed optimism about the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was witnessed by Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly Emomotimi Guwor, and several other party dignitaries. With Oborevwori now officially the APC standard-bearer, the party is poised to begin its campaign for the 2027 governorship election, building on the foundation of unity and transparency demonstrated in this primary.
