Nigerian Army troops have arrested a suspect accused of supplying explosives to terrorist groups and seized a large quantity of dangerous materials along the Gusau–Magami road in Zamfara State. The arrest took place on Tuesday, April 23, at approximately 12:30 pm, when soldiers from the 1 Mechanised Infantry Regiment intercepted the man in Gusau Local Government Area. The suspect was reportedly traveling from Gobirawa Chali, allegedly en route to deliver the explosives to armed groups operating in the region.
Security sources confirmed the development to Zagazola Makama, a respected security expert based in the Lake Chad region. The sources stated that the suspect was stopped during routine surveillance operations aimed at disrupting the flow of weapons and explosives into conflict zones.
