These items were seized during the engagement, underscoring the operational readiness and intelligence capabilities of the Nigerian Army in the region.
Meanwhile, in Zamfara State, troops from Forward Operating Base Bagega launched a high-intensity operation in Anka Local Government Area. The operation resulted in the neutralisation of seven terrorists, including two notorious kingpins identified as Anaruwa and Gomina. The military’s swift response was bolstered by reinforcement from various combat units and precision airstrikes from the air component, which played a critical role in repelling the insurgents.
As the operation progressed, a second wave of eight terrorists arrived on four motorcycles. The following day, on May 3, 2026, troops encountered two more terrorists on motorbikes in the same area and neutralised them on the spot.
