The party also highlighted inconsistencies in the use of its logo, pointing out that the symbol used in the Nasarawa by-election differed from the one officially adopted by INEC during a by-election held simultaneously in Enugu State. This discrepancy, they argue, indicates possible negligence or intentional misrepresentation by electoral officials. Additionally, the NDC reported malfunctioning Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices in several polling units, which they say compromised the integrity of the voting process.
Beyond technical issues, the NDC accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate of benefiting from result manipulation and mutilation, though it did not provide specific evidence to back these claims. The party emphasized that these irregularities collectively undermine the credibility of the election and the democratic rights of its members and supporters. As a result, the NDC declared it does not recognize the election outcome and will pursue legal action to challenge the process.
The by-election was held to fill the vacant Nasarawa North Senatorial seat following the death of Senator Godiya Akwashiki. INEC has not yet responded to the allegations raised by the NDC as of the time of filing this report. The outcome of the election remains under scrutiny as the NDC continues to push for a review of the electoral process, potentially setting the stage for legal proceedings that could impact future electoral conduct in the state.
