Kano Governor Yusuf and APC Commit to Strong Support for Tinubu in 2027 Elections

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has publicly declared the state’s unwavering commitment to securing a decisive victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. The announcement was made during a high-level interactive meeting with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano. The governor emphasized that Kano would play a pivotal role in delivering massive voter support for the President, reinforcing the state’s strategic importance in the APC’s national electoral strategy.

In a statement released on Saturday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf affirmed that the APC-led administration in Kano has no regrets about its steadfast support for President Tinubu. He stressed that the President’s re-election is not just a political goal but a collective responsibility for every party member and government official in the state. “We have no apology for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Yusuf said, underscoring the unity and determination within the APC leadership.

The governor also issued a directive to all political appointees in his administration who have not yet registered with the APC to do so immediately. He emphasized that every elected and appointed official must align with the party and actively participate in strengthening its structures ahead of the 2027 elections. This move is seen as a strategic effort to consolidate party loyalty and ensure maximum mobilization across all levels of governance.

Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to securing victory for the APC in all electoral contests — including the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly, and local government elections. To show appreciation for political office holders, he approved the allocation of plots of land to over 300 political aides, including senior special assistants, special assistants, senior special reporters, special reporters, and personal assistants. Each beneficiary will also receive a cash payment of N100,000 as part of the government’s recognition of their service.

Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, echoed the governor’s sentiments, stating that the APC owes no apology for promoting President Tinubu’s achievements in the state. He highlighted that constituency projects implemented by members of the State Assembly, with Governor Yusuf’s support, have significantly boosted the party’s popularity and electoral prospects. Kano APC Chairman Umar Haruna Doguwa also expressed confidence in the party’s readiness for the upcoming political contest, declaring, “The battle line has been drawn with the Kwankwasiyya movement,” and asserting that the APC will emerge victorious in 2027.

As the 2027 elections approach, Kano’s political landscape is being shaped by strong party loyalty, strategic appointments, and visible rewards for party workers, all aimed at consolidating support for President Tinubu and the APC.
