Hon. Teslim Babatunde Jimoh has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Ibadan North West State Constituency in Oyo State House of Assembly, securing a decisive victory on Wednesday. The primary election was conducted across all 11 electoral wards that make up the constituency, with party members casting their votes to choose their preferred candidate. Jimoh emerged as the clear winner, polling 1,218 votes, while his closest rival, Hon. Adams Adebayo Yusuf, received 859 votes. The election was closely monitored by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security personnel to ensure transparency and order.
The results of the primary election have been formally submitted to the INEC office in accordance with party and electoral procedures. The exercise was carried out peacefully, with no reported incidents of violence or disruption, reflecting the maturity of the party’s members in Ibadan North West. A prominent APC chieftain in the area, Chief Adekunle Abass Akande, praised the outcome as a true reflection of the will of the party’s grassroots members.
