Eterna Plc has appointed Dr. Jude Nwaulune as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership transition in the Nigerian downstream oil and gas sector. The appointment, effective May 14, 2026, follows the resignation of Mr. Olumide Adeosun, whose tenure ended on May 13, 2026. The company announced the change in a filing with the Nigerian Exchange Limited, underscoring the formal and transparent nature of the transition. Eterna’s Board expressed gratitude to Adeosun for his contributions and leadership, wishing him well in his future ventures.
Dr. Nwaulune brings over 19 years of experience in the downstream energy industry, with a strong track record in sales, marketing, logistics, operations management, and business development. His most recent role was as Managing Director of Rainoil Logistics Services Limited, where he oversaw logistics operations and petroleum distribution management. This hands-on experience positions him well to address the current challenges facing Eterna, including rising operational costs and increasing competition in Nigeria’s petroleum retail and logistics market.
Over the past 12 years, Dr. Nwaulune has led strategic growth initiatives and operational transformation projects across key segments of the energy sector. His work has included expanding petroleum retail networks, developing the LPG market, and managing nationwide supply chains. Industry analysts believe his expertise in logistics and retail expansion could help Eterna improve operational efficiency and strengthen its market presence amid shifting consumer demands and energy transition pressures.
Academically, Dr. Nwaulune holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ambrose Alli University. He furthered his education with an MSc and PhD in strategic marketing management from Babcock University. His academic credentials are complemented by professional affiliations with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, and the Nigerian Institute of Marketing of Nigeria.
Beyond corporate leadership, Dr. Nwaulune is recognized for his academic contributions, having published several journal articles and books. His professional engagements span across Africa and Europe, reflecting a broad perspective on energy and business management. As Eterna navigates a dynamic market environment, investors will closely watch how the new CEO steers the company’s strategic direction. The appointment signals a new chapter for Eterna Plc as it seeks to consolidate its position in Nigeria’s competitive downstream energy landscape.
