The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested a 42-year-old farmer, Ganiu Agbajo, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Ipokia Local Government Area of the state. The arrest followed a distress report received on September 7, 2026, after the victim was seen crying while returning home. According to an eyewitness account, the girl’s mother questioned her upon arrival and she revealed that she had been raped by a man. The mother immediately raised the alarm, prompting community members to inform the So-Safe Corps.
Commander Soji Ganzallo, the State Commander of the Corps, confirmed the incident through the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi, in a statement issued on Thursday. Operatives responded swiftly to the report and apprehended the suspect at his residence in Hassan Compound, Igbokulu, Ita-Egbe, Ipokia. During preliminary interrogation, Agbajo confessed to committing the act on his farmland located at Ojugo, Ita-Egbe. The confession was made under supervision and documented as part of the investigation process.
The So-Safe Corps commended the community for their vigilance and quick response, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in combating crimes against children. Commander Ganzallo urged residents to remain alert and report any suspicious or unlawful activities to the agency without delay.
