Dr Ibironke Odumosu-Ayanu, a distinguished Nigerian legal scholar, has been appointed as the new dean of the University of Saskatchewan College of Law (USask) in Canada, effective October 1. Dr Odumosu-Ayanu will serve a five-year term, succeeding Martin Philipson, who held the position for two years.

Dr Odumosu-Ayanu joins the role from within the institution, having served as associate dean for research and graduate studies at USask. She earned her undergraduate law degree from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), followed by a master’s degree from the University of Canada and a doctoral degree from the University of British Columbia.
Recognized internationally for her expertise in business and human rights, international investment law, and natural resource governance, Dr Odumosu-Ayanu has made substantial contributions to legal scholarship.
