2027 Reps Aspirant Raises Alarm Over Bwari Residents Plight

Sarah Ivie Adidi, an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, has raised urgent concerns over the socio-economic challenges facing residents of the Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Her remarks followed a comprehensive grassroots tour of the area, during which she engaged with party leaders, community stakeholders, and residents across key wards. The tour, which concluded recently, covered Ushafa, Bwari Central, Kuduru, Kubwa, Usuma, Byazhin, and Dutse Alhaji, provided her with direct insight into the pressing needs of the people.

Adidi emphasized that the struggles faced by Bwari residents highlight the critical need for strong, responsive representation in the National Assembly. She stated that the ward tour was not merely a campaign strategy but a genuine effort to listen, understand, and act on community concerns. “This tour has allowed me to truly listen to the people and understand their realities firsthand. Leadership must begin with listening and, where possible, taking immediate action,” she said during one of the engagements.

In response to feedback from ward party executives and residents, Adidi announced several immediate interventions. These include the repair and repainting of the APC office in Shere Ward, the payment of two years’ rent for the APC Kuduru ward office, and the provision of footballs for a youth tournament in Igu Ward. These actions aim to strengthen party structures and promote youth engagement through sports, addressing both political and social needs at the grassroots level.

Party leaders, supporters, and stakeholders have praised Adidi’s proactive and people-centered approach. They believe her responsiveness to community needs demonstrates strong leadership potential and has boosted confidence in her candidacy. The endorsement is significant, as chairmen of the six geo-political zones of the APC in the FCT previously backed her to represent the AMAC/Bwari constituency in the 2027 general elections.

This endorsement came during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, where party leaders and mobilisers discussed the political future of the constituency and the necessity of effective representation. The APC has set May 15, 2026, as the date for its National Assembly primaries, including the House of Representatives and Senate positions. Adidi’s ongoing grassroots engagement positions her as a serious contender in the upcoming primary election.

As the political landscape in the FCT continues to evolve, Adidi’s focus on listening, acting, and building trust may shape her campaign’s momentum. Her efforts signal a shift toward more participatory and solution-driven politics in the region, setting the stage for a competitive race ahead of the 2027 elections.
