The Nigerian Army (NA) has announced significant operational successes across multiple theatres in the past 24 hours, intensifying its efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and protect vulnerable communities through intelligence-driven military actions. Troops have disrupted logistics, arrested suspects, recovered weapons and contraband, and destroyed terrorist infrastructure in Borno, Kogi, Katsina, Plateau, Rivers, and Taraba States. These operations reflect a sustained commitment to national security and the protection of civilians in conflict-affected regions.
In the North-East Theatre, soldiers from the 192 Battalion executed a successful ambush on ISWAP/JAS terrorists near Kuranabassa Village in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State. The operation led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, one magazine loaded with 12 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition, an AK-47 rifle top cover, and other sundry items. This action disrupted enemy movement and weakened their operational capacity in the region.
Meanwhile, troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade, working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), intercepted three vehicles transporting suspected terrorist logistics along the Yunusari–Bukarti–Ka la/Gamari axis. The operation resulted in the arrest of five suspects and the seizure of solar panels, water pumping machines, construction materials, mobile phones, and cash. These items are often used to support terrorist activities and sustain their presence in remote areas.
In Kogi State, soldiers from the 12 Brigade conducted a surprise checkpoint operation along the Obajana–Kabba Road. They intercepted a vehicle carrying suspected terrorist logistics, apprehended two suspected couriers, and recovered 314 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, three AK-47 magazines, mobile phones, and valid identification documents. The seizure of ammunition and communication devices highlights the army’s ability to intercept critical supplies before they reach hostile elements.
In the North-West Theatre, troops of the 17 Brigade carried out offensive clearance operations in Musawa and Matazu Local Government Areas of Katsina State. They destroyed several terrorist life-support structures in villages including Gidan Mai-Gona, Gidan Dangodo, Sabongari Nagalawa, Kurna Dogon Tsamiya, Gidan Karo, and Gidan Lawal Natapi. These actions deny insurgents safe havens and operational bases.
In Plateau State, under Operation ENDURING PEACE, military personnel responded swiftly to distress calls and rescued 12 civilians trapped by insurgents. Injured individuals were evacuated for immediate medical care, demonstrating the army’s dual role in combat and humanitarian intervention.
In the South-South, troops in Rivers State discovered and safely handled approximately 3,250 litres of illegally refined petroleum products along Refinery Road in Eleme Local Government Area. In Taraba State, soldiers from the 114 Battalion apprehended nine suspected terrorist informants linked to a notorious criminal kingpin and dismantled hideouts used for coordinating criminal activities.
These coordinated efforts underscore the Nigerian Army’s ongoing mission to restore peace and stability across the country. The military’s ability to act swiftly and decisively across multiple regions signals a growing momentum in the fight against insurgency and criminal networks. As operations continue, the army remains committed to protecting lives and securing Nigeria’s future.
