Why Nigerians May Reelect Tinubu in 2027, Says Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno

When asked if he would actively campaign for Tinubu’s re-election, Eno affirmed his commitment, stating that Akwa Ibom is firmly behind Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). He cited recent primary election results, where he received 392,000 votes and Tinubu secured close to 400,000 votes in the state. He added that the APC dominates Akwa Ibom’s political landscape, with all senators, 24 out of 26 House of Assembly members, and 30 out of 31 local government chairmen belonging to the party. He expressed confidence in the party’s ground presence and ability to mobilize support.

Eno acknowledged the importance of political pluralism, saying he respects all candidates and believes more options are better for democracy. However, he expressed no fear of opposition, asserting that the APC’s grassroots network is strong and active. He concluded by reinforcing his belief that Nigerians will choose continuity and progress, supporting Tinubu to finish the job he has started. The governor’s endorsement underscores growing momentum for Tinubu’s re-election bid, particularly in key southern states like Akwa Ibom.
