Adamawa State Police Command successfully rescued a man kidnapped in the early hours of Friday, June 26, 2026, in a swift operation that ended with the recovery of the victim and the seizure of weapons and other items linked to the abductors. The operation, carried out on Saturday, June 27, 2026, involved a joint team of police operatives from Song Divisional Police Headquarters and local hunters. The victim, identified as Alhaji Rabe Suleiman, is a resident of Roma Village in Suktu District, Song Local Government Area.

The police stated that the rescue mission was launched following credible intelligence about the whereabouts of the kidnappers. The joint security team traced the abductors to a hideout near the Morogma Mountains, where they engaged in a gun battle with the armed criminals. The encounter led to the kidnappers fleeing into the surrounding terrain, reportedly sustaining bullet wounds, while leaving the victim behind unharmed.

According to the statement signed by Suleiman Nguroje, the Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Police Command, the security team’s superior firepower and tactical coordination played a key role in the successful rescue. The victim was immediately taken to a medical facility for a health check-up and has since been safely reunited with his family.

During the operation, several items were recovered from the scene, including a Beretta pistol, one live round of Beretta ammunition, a torchlight, a small bag, suspected charms, and food items. These recovered materials are now being examined by forensic experts to aid further investigations into the incident.

The police emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety of residents in Adamawa State, especially in areas prone to kidnapping and armed criminal activities. They also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
