The Ondo State Police Command has successfully dismantled a cross-border human trafficking syndicate, rescuing a 21-year-old woman who was lured to Côte d’Ivoire under false promises of employment and subjected to severe exploitation. The victim, Akinwunmi Faith, was deceived by three suspects—Akinlaja Blessings, Johnson Ahomari, and an at-large accomplice named Grace—on February 22, 2026, and taken abroad with the pretence of securing a job as a supermarket sales assistant. Her mother, Akinwunmi Olubunmi, reported her disappearance to the Okitipupa Police Division on April 13, 2026, prompting a swift investigation by law enforcement.
Police investigations revealed that upon arrival in Côte d’Ivoire, Faith was forced into prostitution and subjected to inhumane conditions under the control of her traff
