Two men have been arrested by operatives of the Yobe State Police Command in connection with a burglary and theft at Red Bricks Housing Estate in Damaturu, the state capital. The suspects, Abubakar Abdullahi, 27, and Ayuba, 23, were apprehended on August 7 following an intelligence-driven investigation launched after a complainant reported the incident to the police. The arrest was carried out by officers from B Division, Damaturu, who acted swiftly based on information gathered during their probe.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the development in a statement, emphasizing that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the area. He stated that the divisional team conducted thorough investigations after receiving the report, which led directly to the identification and capture of the two suspects. Both men are residents of the same address in Damaturu and were interrogated upon arrest.

Items recovered from them include one 50-inch Samsung Galaxy Smart TV, three sets of bedsheets, and one large carpet. These items have since been documented and securely stored in the exhibit room of the police station for further processing.
The complainant has also been brought to the station to identify the recovered goods and confirm ownership, providing crucial evidence to support the case. While the suspects remain in custody, the police are continuing their investigation to determine if other individuals were involved in the crime.
