The Nigeria Police Force has announced a major breakthrough in its fight against banditry, following the arrest of four suspected bandits and the recovery of several firearms and ammunition in Kaduna State. The operation, carried out by the Force Intelligence Department – Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS), took place on 7th March 2026 in Tayu, Sanga Local Government Area. The suspects—Abdumumini Abubakar, 40, Maikano Gambo, 47, Saleh Thompson, 47, and Oyonyi Odango, 40—were apprehended based on credible intelligence gathered by police operatives. The recovered items include four AK-47 rifles with magazines, eighty rounds of 7.62 x 39mm ammunition, and one locally fabricated pistol with twenty rounds of 9mm ammunition.
