The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has paraded several suspects arrested for involvement in car theft, armed robbery, cable vandalism, and theft of agricultural infrastructure across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and neighbouring states. The arrests were made following intelligence-led operations conducted by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad, with suspects presented at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja. Among those apprehended is Adam Yusuf, identified as a suspected member of a car-snatching syndicate operating across multiple states. He was caught under the Mpape Flyover while allegedly attempting to deliver a stolen Toyota Camry.
In addition to Yusuf, other suspects were also detained for various criminal activities. The NSCDC disclosed that an AK-47 rifle, 16 rounds of ammunition, and N70,000 in cash were recovered from individuals linked to an armed robbery operation. Other suspects include alleged cable vandals and a man accused of stealing 15 tractor batteries, highlighting the range of crimes targeted in the crackdown. These operations are part of the NSCDC’s ongoing efforts to combat crime through proactive, intelligence-driven strategies aimed at protecting lives and property.
The Corps emphasized that these arrests reflect its commitment to maintaining security in the FCT and surrounding regions. In another development, the NSCDC announced the rescue of Micaiah Nana, the last of 16 children reportedly trafficked by Archibong Anderson. The child was found in Kwali Area Council of the FCT, and the alleged buyers have been taken into custody and are assisting with investigations. This successful rescue marks a significant milestone in the agency’s efforts to combat child trafficking and protect vulnerable populations.
