A 20-year-old man, Umar Abdullahi, has died following a violent altercation among youths in Rahamanu Village, Aujara District, Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State. The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, around 11:30 p.m., and led to the immediate deployment of security personnel after a distress call was received from a member of the Fulani community. According to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), two individuals were found seriously injured and rushed to the Primary Health Centre in Aujara for emergency treatment.
ASC. Badruddeen Tijjani, Public Relations Officer of NSCDC Jigawa State Command, confirmed the details in a statement issued to DAILY POST. He noted that the Aujara Divisional Office of the NSCDC responded swiftly to the emergency call and arrived at the scene to secure the area. The deceased, identified as Umar Abdullahi, was a resident of the Rahamanu Fulani settlement and succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical care at the health facility.
The second victim, 19-year-old Sule Adamu, also from the same settlement, is currently undergoing treatment and reportedly responding well to medical intervention. Authorities have taken two suspects into custody, with police personnel from the Aujara Division leading the investigation. Preliminary inquiries are underway to determine the exact cause of the fight and to identify all individuals involved in the incident.
