The Kano State Anti-Phone Snatching Squad has arrested seven suspected drug users during a surprise raid at Mahaha Stadium, marking a significant step in the state’s ongoing crackdown on drug abuse, phone snatching, and thuggery. The operation, conducted on Wednesday, was based on credible intelligence indicating the sale and consumption of illicit substances within the stadium premises. Ibrahim Garba Ahmad, spokesperson for the squad, confirmed the arrests in an interview with a local radio station. Ahmad emphasized that the raid was part of the squad’s broader “Damisa Ki Sabo” initiative, which focuses on identifying and apprehending criminal elements, including drug dealers and users, across Kano State.
