President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has declared that Akwa Ibom State will deliver the highest number of votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential election within the South-South geo-political zone. This pledge came during a high-level consultation with key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the Government House in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The meeting coincided with Governor Umo Eno’s formal engagement with party members as he prepares for his re-election bid in 2027.
Akpabio praised Governor Eno for his peaceful leadership and inclusive governance style, describing him as a man of God in both words and actions. He emphasized that Eno’s humility and commitment to consultation, even in the absence of a primary challenger, reflect the character of a true leader. “Despite the fact that he has no one challenging him for the sole ticket of the party, he is humble enough to still consult party members and critical stakeholders in the state. That is very instructive of the kind of person he is,” Akpabio stated.
The Senate President also highlighted the visible progress across Akwa Ibom State, noting that government projects are being initiated, completed, and commissioned for public use. He pointed out that even abandoned projects are being revived and delivered to communities. “If you also go around the state, you will know that there is a government in place,” Akpabio said, underscoring the administration’s development agenda.
He commended Governor Eno for the recent commencement of international flights at the Victor Attah International Airport, calling it a milestone for the state’s economic growth and connectivity. Akpabio expressed confidence that the people of Akwa Ibom would reward President Tinubu’s support for one of their own—himself—by delivering strong electoral backing in 2027. He stressed that the state’s gratitude for Tinubu’s role in elevating Akpabio to the Senate presidency would be reflected at the ballot box.
The consultation in Uyo reinforced APC’s unity and strategic planning ahead of the 2027 elections. Akpabio’s remarks served as both an endorsement of Governor Eno’s leadership and a rallying call for maximum voter turnout in favor of President Tinubu. As the political landscape continues to evolve, Akwa Ibom’s commitment to the APC’s national agenda remains a key factor in the party’s electoral strategy for the South-South region.
With infrastructure projects advancing and public confidence rising, Akwa Ibom is positioning itself as a stronghold for the APC in the upcoming presidential election. The state’s leadership is now focused on consolidating support and ensuring a smooth transition into the next electoral cycle.
