Africa Prudential Reports 18% H1 Profit Growth Amid 27% Revenue Increase

Africa Prudential Plc delivered a strong financial performance in the first half of 2026, reporting double-digit growth in revenue and earnings driven by increased activity in Nigeria’s capital market, improved treasury income, and rising adoption of its technology-driven services. The company recorded gross earnings of N4.28 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026, marking a 27 percent increase from N3.34 billion in the same period of 2025. Profit before tax rose to N2.41 billion, up 22 percent year-on-year, while profit after tax climbed 18 percent to N1.59 billion. Net operating income also grew by 27 percent to N4.21 billion, reflecting robust performance across its core operations.

The company attributed its improved results to sustained growth in registrar services, higher corporate action volumes in the Nigerian capital market, stronger treasury performance amid elevated interest rates, and rising demand for its digital solutions. Total assets increased by 13 percent to N46.53 billion, while shareholders’ funds grew to N12.52 billion, also up 13 percent year-on-year. This financial strength underscores Africa Prudential’s ability to manage its balance sheet effectively while expanding its business footprint.

During the H1 2026 investor call, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Catherine Nwosu, emphasized the company’s strategic shift from a traditional share registrar to a diversified technology and business solutions provider. She highlighted that Africa Prudential is actively expanding recurring fee-based income streams to reduce dependency on interest-sensitive treasury earnings. This move is aimed at ensuring long-term earnings stability, even as interest rates may moderate in the future.

Dr. Nwosu identified key growth areas including digital products, Know-Your-Customer (KYC) services, AGM technology solutions, probate services, and the SabiVest investment platform. These initiatives are designed to meet the growing demand for digital investor engagement, compliance tools, and operational efficiency within Nigeria’s evolving capital market. The company’s focus on innovation is also evident in its commitment to accelerating technology-led solutions and reinforcing its market leadership.

Looking ahead, Africa Prudential has outlined five strategic priorities for the second half of 2026: strengthening its core registrar business, expanding new revenue streams, advancing digital innovation, investing in workforce development, and maintaining high standards of corporate governance. The company remains committed to transparent communication with shareholders, analysts, and the investment community.

With continued investments in digital infrastructure and business diversification, Africa Prudential is positioning itself as a key player in Nigeria’s capital market ecosystem, poised to sustain growth and deliver long-term value to stakeholders.
