Kunle Olatunji, gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo State, has declared that governors elected on the platforms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have failed the people of the state. Speaking ahead of the 2027 general elections, Olatunji criticized the two dominant parties for failing to deliver people-oriented governance since democratic rule began in 1999. He stated that their administrations have not introduced meaningful projects that address the needs of the citizens.
Olatunji made the remarks in a statement released to DAILY POST on Tuesday in Ibadan. He emphasized that the growing support for ADP across Oyo State reflects public dissatisfaction with APC and PDP leadership. According to him, years of disappointment under successive governments from the two parties have created a strong desire for credible and transformative alternatives.
He argued that Oyo State deserves visionary, purposeful, and people-centered leadership capable of restoring its reputation as Nigeria’s “Pace Setter” in governance, economic development, and human capital investment. Olatunji pointed out that the state’s potential has been undermined by poor leadership and lack of accountability over the past decades. He pledged that an ADP administration would bring a complete overhaul of the state’s governance structure.
“Our administration will pursue a development-driven agenda anchored on competence, accountability, empathy, and collective responsibility,” Olatunji said. He stressed that the new leadership model would prioritize transparency and inclusive growth. The ADP candidate believes that only a fresh political approach can reverse the decline in public services and infrastructure in Oyo State.
Olatunji also highlighted that the increasing acceptance of ADP across various local government areas signals a shift in voter sentiment. He sees this as proof that Oyo residents are ready to break away from the political dominance of APC and PDP. He called on voters to embrace change and support a party committed to genuine transformation.
