The Executive Director of Finance at the South West Development Commission (SWDC), Tele Ogunjobi, has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State to adopt a strategic and aggressive grassroots campaign approach ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking at a political strategy meeting held on Friday in Ago-Iwoye, Ijebu North Local Government Area, Ogunjobi emphasized the need for unity, organization, and full commitment from all party members to ensure electoral success across the state.
He stressed that winning the 2027 elections will require more than rallies and speeches — it demands a well-coordinated grassroots mobilization effort capable of converting political support into actual votes at polling units. According to Ogunjobi, sustained engagement at the ward and polling-unit levels is essential for effective voter mobilization and election-day coordination.
Ogunjobi reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, urging party members to rally behind them. He declared a renewed commitment to APC’s electoral victory, calling for massive public backing for the party’s leadership at all levels.
In a significant move, he directed the Tele Ogunjobi Political Movement to begin appointing and deploying two dedicated canvassers in every polling unit within the Ijebu North, Ijebu East, and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency. This initiative aims to strengthen the movement’s presence at the grassroots, enhance direct communication with voters, and turn each polling unit into a hub for political engagement and mobilization.
He urged members of his movement to take the APC’s message directly to the people, insisting that meaningful political mobilization must extend beyond high-profile events to consistent, ground-level interaction. Ogunjobi believes this bottom-up strategy will build trust, increase voter turnout, and solidify party support in key areas.
The meeting was attended by prominent political figures, including Olaseni Koiki, Director-General of Caucus 7202, who led other leaders and members to the gathering. Participants from the three local government areas expressed strong solidarity with the movement and confirmed their readiness to play active roles in the upcoming 2027 mobilization structure.
This strategic gathering underscores the growing momentum within the APC in Ogun State as preparations for the next electoral cycle intensify.
