Delta State Police Command has intensified its war on drug trafficking after operatives raided a suspected drug den and arrested five suspects, recovering several illicit substances during the operation. The incident occurred on 8th September 2026 in King Zanga, Ugbuegwai community, Warri, following credible intelligence about illegal drug activities at an uncompleted building in the area. Police spokesman SP Bright Edafe confirmed the raid, stating that the Divisional Surveillance Team conducted the operation based on prior tips from reliable sources.
The suspects apprehended include Rabi’u Salihu, 26; Salisu Suleiman, 23; Rabilu Ali, 24; Alhassan Mohd Mansur, 28; and Aliyu Abubakar, 25. All were taken into custody immediately after their arrest. Authorities recovered various drugs believed to be Indian hemp, Codeine, Colorado, Rizla, SK, and Canadian Loud. These substances are commonly associated with substance abuse and illegal drug trade across Nigeria, particularly in urban centers like Warri.
SP Edafe emphasized that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb drug-related crimes and ensure public safety. He noted that the suspects are currently being held for further interrogation, and investigations are still underway to determine the full extent of their involvement in the drug network.
