Ekiki Guber Poll: Sen Natasha Backs PDP Candidate Oluyede, Rallies Support

Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has thrown her full weight behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, urging voters to support a leader she describes as competent, experienced, and deeply connected to the grassroots. Speaking at the grand finale of the PDP’s governorship campaign on Saturday, June 13, 2026, held opposite Eagle Hall on Ikere Road in Ado-Ekiti, the senator emphasized Oluyede’s vision for inclusive development and good governance ahead of the June 20 election.

Akpoti-Uduaghan addressed a massive crowd of party supporters, women groups, youth organizations, and members of the Ebira community, sharing her firsthand experience of mobilizing support across Ekiti State. She revealed that she had spent several days visiting towns and settlements, including Ikole-Ekiti and Ilasa, areas with significant Ebira populations, to encourage voter turnout and build momentum for Oluyede’s candidacy.

She highlighted Oluyede’s proven commitment to youth empowerment, women’s inclusion, educational advancement, and economic growth as key reasons why he deserves the mandate of Ekiti people. According to the senator, Oluyede has consistently shown genuine concern for the welfare of ordinary citizens, remaining accessible and responsive to the needs of market women, civil servants, youths, and community leaders.

“Dr. Oluwole Oluyede is a leader who understands the needs of the people. He is not disconnected from the grassroots. He has listened to the cries of market women, youths, civil servants and community leaders across the state,” Akpoti-Uduaghan stated during her address.

The senator also praised Oluyede as a unifying figure who champions equal opportunities for all Ekiti residents, regardless of tribe or background. She stressed that his promise to run an inclusive government, where the Ebira community and other ethnic groups are fairly represented, was a major factor in her decision to campaign vigorously for him.

“He has assured our people that his administration will carry everyone along. He believes in unity, fairness and equal representation. That is the kind of leadership Ekiti needs at this critical time,” she added.

Akpoti-Uduaghan commended the political awareness and educational standards of Ekiti people, expressing confidence that voters will make informed choices on election day. “Ekiti people are proudly educated and politically enlightened people. I believe they know who truly has the capacity, compassion and experience to govern the state effectively,” she said.

The campaign event drew party leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and women organizations, all expressing optimism about the PDP’s chances of victory. With strong grassroots mobilization and a message of unity and development, the party aims to secure a decisive win in the upcoming governorship election. The outcome of the June 20 poll will be a defining moment for Ekiti State’s political future.
