2027 Osun Elections: APP Affirms Senate, Reps, and State Assembly Candidates

The Action Peoples Party (APP) in Osun State has officially affirmed its candidates for the 2027 general elections, including positions in the Senate, House of Representatives, and Osun State House of Assembly, in a transparent and peaceful process held before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party members, and stakeholders. The event, led by Adeloye Ogunmodede, marked a significant step in the party’s preparations for upcoming electoral contests and underscored its commitment to unity and consensus. The candidates were selected through a smooth, hitch-free consensus across all affected constituencies, with no reports of rancour, disruption, or controversy.

Osun State Chairman of the APP, Oluseye Titus Odesola, welcomed attendees and described the gathering as more than a political ceremony — a demonstration of cohesion, shared vision, and confidence in the party’s future. He emphasized that the affirmation process was a clear signal of the party’s readiness for future elections and its determination to move forward as a united political family. Odesola urged members to focus not on the party’s current standing but on its potential, highlighting the importance of collective effort and forward-thinking leadership.

He confirmed that the candidates had undergone thorough scrutiny by party elders and were deemed fit and qualified to represent the APP in their respective electoral zones. The party also activated a reconciliation mechanism to address any concerns from aggrieved members, encouraging them to remain committed to the collective interest ahead of the 2026 governorship election. Odesola expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their support and reaffirmed the party’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and progress.

The senatorial candidates affirmed are Olasupo Ibraheem Olanrewaju for Osun West, Adefare Segun Adegoke for Osun East, and Temitayo Oluwaseun for Osun Central. In the House of Representatives, the party has endorsed Adeniyi Jimoh Ogunsakin for Irewole, Isokan, and Ayedaade; Akintayo Israel Oluwatobi for Ede South, Ede North, Ejigbo, and Egbedore; Alimi Surajudeen Tanimola for Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun, and Orolu; Babalola Banjo Samson for Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakunmosa East, and Atakunmosa West; and Adesoye Adeyinka Adebayo for Oriade and Obokun Federal Constituencies.

For the Osun State House of Assembly, the affirmed candidates include Ajilore Olusoji Titus (Atakunmosa East), Olatunbosun Oyekanmi Wisdom (Ife North), Babatunde Victoria Funke (Ifedayo), Kolawole Folashade (Ife East), Abiodun Bolanle Esther (Ila-Orangun), and Azeez Kudirat Ayoni (Odo-Otin). Odesola encouraged more residents to register with the party and participate actively, stressing that grassroots mobilisation remains crucial to its growth and success.

As the APP strengthens its structures across Osun State, the party’s leadership is positioning itself as a credible and united force in Nigeria’s political landscape, with a clear roadmap for the 2027 elections.
