Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Osun State, has declared with confidence that voters will make history by electing him governor in the upcoming election on August 15. Speaking during a meeting with members of the Association of Mobile Telecommunication Engineers of Nigeria (AMTEN), Osun State chapter, in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyebamiji expressed strong optimism about his chances, stating that the electorate is ready to return Osun to a progressive path under his leadership.
Oyebamiji, who was represented at the event by Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, Chairman of Civic Engagement for the APC Campaign Council, emphasized that massive voter turnout across the state would be the key to his victory. He told the gathering, “History will be made on August 15 as I will be elected governor of the state. I am confident and hopeful in God and in you that it will be my day.” He added that the election would mark a turning point, as Osun returns to what he described as a progressive trajectory.
The APC candidate stressed that governance is a serious responsibility requiring dedication and focus. He pledged to deliver the dividends of democracy by implementing policies that prioritize the welfare of all residents. His administration, he said, will focus on economic security, healthcare, education, and social protection as core pillars of development.
Oyebamiji outlined plans to expand social safety nets to reduce poverty and improve security for vulnerable groups. He also promised to create economic opportunities by supporting small-scale enterprises and encouraging the growth of large businesses through funding, capacity building, and infrastructure development. He highlighted that his policy agenda, code-named “PROSPER,” will be fully implemented to improve the standard of living for all Osun residents.
Addressing the telecommunications professionals, Oyebamiji acknowledged the critical role of the sector in driving economic and business growth. He assured them of his support if elected, emphasizing that modern communication infrastructure is vital for development. He urged stakeholders to ignore what he described as a campaign of calumny against him, calling on them to focus on the vision he has for the state.
Earlier, Abdulrasaki Ejalonibu, President of AMTEN Osun State chapter, assured Oyebamiji of the association’s full support and votes. He noted that members were encouraged by the recognition and support they received during the administration of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. The association also called on Oyebamiji to honor his promises if elected.
As the election draws near, Oyebamiji’s campaign continues to gain momentum, with key stakeholders expressing confidence in his ability to lead Osun into a new era of progress. His message of economic revival, social protection, and inclusive development resonates with many voters, setting the stage for a decisive outcome on election day.
