The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its confidence in defeating incumbent Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke in the 2026 governorship election, with party Director General Oluwole Oke asserting that Bola Oyebamiji will be declared winner before 10:00pm on election day, August 15, 2026. This bold prediction came during the inauguration of over 800 members of the APC’s campaign council for the upcoming gubernatorial race in Osun State. The event, held on Wednesday, marked the formal launch of the party’s structured campaign machinery aimed at unseating the current administration.
Oke, who was appointed Director General of the campaign organisation, criticised the performance of the Adeleke administration, accusing it of mismanaging state resources and plunging Osun into a state of decline. He stated that Oyebamiji is ready to “rescue Osun from the drift of collapse” and restore the state’s “lost glory.” The campaign council, he said, is fully committed to removing Adeleke from office, describing the goal as “non-negotiable” and declaring that the governor’s days in office are “numbered.”
Speaking at the inauguration, Oke highlighted widespread failures across key sectors including education, health, agriculture, and mining. He noted that public institutions are no longer functioning effectively under the current leadership. “The incumbent is gone. His days in office are numbered. The truth remains that the government has failed the people of Osun State on all fronts,” Oke declared. He further criticised the administration’s focus on salary payments, calling it “a sing-song” that does not constitute real achievement, and stressed that workers deserve more than just basic pay.
The APC campaign council has already begun grassroots mobilisation and public outreach, with Oke confirming that the party is fully engaged in its election strategy. The council is structured into multiple specialised committees, including Peace and Resolution, Contact and Mobilisation, Women Mobilisation, Media and Publicity, Youth and Civil Society, Social Engagement, Research and Strategy, Legal, Medical, Diaspora, Multiface Interface, Entertainment, and Non-indigene committees. Each committee is led by designated chairpersons and secretaries to ensure coordinated efforts across all fronts.
Oke reiterated the party’s commitment to tackling poverty, unemployment, and poor governance, promising targeted programmes to improve the welfare of Osun residents. He reaffirmed the APC’s track record in removing sitting governors, saying, “We are experts in removing a sitting governor. We will remove Adeleke before 10:00pm on 15th August 2026. Bola Oyebamiji will win and be declared the validly elected governor of Osun.” As the 2026 election approaches, the APC’s campaign machinery is now fully activated, setting the stage for a high-stakes political contest in Osun State.
