Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has accused external forces of interfering in the leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), warning that the ongoing dispute is being orchestrated to weaken the opposition party as it grows stronger ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking during an interview with DW Hausa, Atiku linked the internal conflict to deliberate efforts by unknown actors to destabilize the party. He emphasized that the ADC’s increasing popularity poses a threat to those in power, prompting them to use proxies to undermine its unity and credibility.
