Ibrahim Kashim, former Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, has been declared the National Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Bauchi State through a consensus arrangement. The announcement was made on Friday in Bauchi by Paul Daniel, Chairman of the electoral committee for the party’s governorship primary election. Daniel confirmed that the decision followed extensive consultations among party stakeholders and other aspirants, emphasizing that the consensus process demonstrated unity and cohesion within the NDC. He stated, “With this development, Ibrahim Kashim has officially become the NDC governorship candidate for Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 elections.”
The Bauchi State Chairman of the NDC, Abdullahi Maigari, welcomed the outcome, noting that the party is gaining wider acceptance across the state. He highlighted the NDC as one of the few political platforms in Bauchi without internal conflicts or disputes. Maigari expressed strong confidence in Kashim’s leadership capabilities, describing him as an experienced politician well-equipped to tackle the state’s pressing socio-economic challenges.
