Dr. Eric Oluwole has officially resigned as the Vice Chairman of the African Democratic Party (ADC) in Ondo State, citing irreconcilable differences regarding the ongoing leadership crisis within the party. The seasoned politician submitted his formal resignation letter on Thursday, addressed to the leadership of Ward 7 in the Ondo West Local Government Area, marking a significant shift in the state’s political landscape.
This development follows extensive consultations between Dr. Oluwole and his political allies, supporters, and his entire political structure. By stepping down, he signals a major break from the party, noting that the internal strife currently bedeviling the ADC has become too difficult to manage. According to the former state vice chairman, who oversaw the Ondo Central Senatorial District, the turmoil within the party is now a hindrance to his personal aspirations and the collective goals of his supporters.
Dr. Oluwole expressed deep frustration with the nature of the disagreement, stating that the leadership crisis is beyond his understanding. He argued that the persistent instability threatens his political career and prevents his supporters from making meaningful contributions to the socio-economic development of Ondo State and Nigeria at large. He stressed that without a readiness to forgive and reconcile among party leaders, the efforts of dedicated members continue to be in vain regardless of their intentions or manifestos.
During his announcement, Dr. Oluwole emphasized that he is not acting alone in this exit. He confirmed that his entire political structure and his circle of allies are withdrawing from the African Democratic Party alongside him. The group is now actively looking for a new platform that offers a more conducive environment for their political ambitions.
The outgoing chieftain highlighted that his primary motivation remains a desire to engage in selfless service for the people of the state and the country. He noted that while he is leaving the ADC, he intends to join another political party where he can pursue his goals more effectively. As the state gears up for future political activities, stakeholders will be watching closely to see which political party Dr. Oluwole and his extensive network choose to join next.
