Nasarawa State APC lawmakers have called on Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Tinubu beyond the 2027 general elections, emphasizing the need for sustained support to deepen democratic dividends. The appeal was made by Mr. Suleiman Azara, Majority Leader of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, during a media briefing following the party’s 10th caucus meeting held in Lafia on Wednesday. Azara, who represents the Awe South constituency, stressed that continued backing for President Tinubu would ensure greater progress and stability for the nation.
The caucus meeting reviewed the outcomes of recent APC congresses held across the state, with lawmakers expressing satisfaction with the results. They congratulated newly elected party leaders at various levels, acknowledging their roles in strengthening the party’s structure. The lawmakers also discussed preparations for upcoming primary elections, affirming their confidence in the party’s leadership at all levels. “We have confidence in our party leadership at all levels and will continue to support and work in synergy with them,” Azara stated.
Unity, peace, and progress were central themes during the deliberations. Azara emphasized that as elected representatives, they remain committed to party loyalty and cohesion. “We discussed a range of issues involving unity, peace and progress of the party. As lawmakers, we are united and will remain loyal to the party in the state,” he said. The caucus also endorsed the party’s decisions on the mode of conducting primaries, affirming that all decisions made by party leaders and stakeholders are binding.
The lawmakers reiterated their pledge to uphold party positions for the sake of national unity and development. “We have agreed to remain loyal to our leaders and the party’s position in the interest of unity, peace, progress and development,” Azara added. He assured that APC lawmakers would work closely with stakeholders and party members across constituencies to secure the party’s victory in future elections. They also reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration with the executive arm of government to drive development in Nasarawa State.
The meeting was attended by key party figures, including the Speaker of the House, Dr. Danladi Jatau, his Deputy, Mr. Muhammad Oyanki, and other APC lawmakers. Their presence underscored the party’s determination to maintain internal harmony and strategic alignment ahead of critical electoral processes. As Nigeria approaches the 2027 elections, the APC in Nasarawa State is positioning itself as a united front, focused on consolidating its political base and delivering on developmental promises.
