The incident occurred on April 10, 2022, when the boat Junior Pope was on capsized in the Niger River, leading to his untimely demise. Jennifer was rushed to the scene, where she encountered a massive crowd and confusion. As she tried to make sense of what was happening, a black Hilux drove past her with her husband lying lifeless in the trunk, still wearing the same red shorts he had worn when he left home at around 10 a.m. that morning. She screamed “JESUSSSSS,” a cry she believes reached heaven.
