The All Progressives Congress (APC) legacy stakeholders in Kano State have submitted three names to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as nominees for the vacant Deputy Governor position, following the resignation of former Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo on March 27, 2026. The nominees, announced in a statement issued in Kano on Sunday, are Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, and Murtala Sule Garo. Magaji Umar Gwammaja, who released the statement, emphasized that the three candidates were chosen for their proven leadership qualities and extensive experience in public service. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, according to Gwammaja, brings valuable legislative experience, while Murtala Sule Garo is noted for his long-standing service in local government and his role in the state executive council.
