An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged political parties, candidates, and their supporters to uphold peace before, during, and after the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15. Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye emphasized the need for calm and unity as the state prepares for a critical electoral exercise. He called on all stakeholders to reject violence and work together to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful voting process.
Oyintiloye stressed that peace is essential not only for the success of the election but also for the stability and development of Osun State. He noted that any act of violence or unrest would undermine public trust in the democratic process and could lead to serious consequences for the entire region. “We must protect our democracy by avoiding any form of intimidation, thuggery, or sabotage,” he said, urging party leaders to guide their members with responsibility and maturity.
The APC chieftain also highlighted the importance of adhering to electoral guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
