Oyo 2027: APC Candidate Alli Assures Swift Resolution of Guber Primary Grievances

Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, has assured the public that all grievances arising from the party’s recent primary election will be resolved soon. Speaking at a media briefing held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Ibadan on Monday, Alli emphasized that the party is committed to unity and reconciliation ahead of the 2027 general elections. He was joined by Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate Mr. Adesoji Adedeji, APC State Chairman Chief Moses Adeyemo, and other party officials.

The APC primary election in Oyo State saw 11 aspirants vying for the party’s ticket, a reflection of the strong interest and deep pool of qualified candidates within the party. While the outcome has generated some discontent among the losing aspirants, Alli stated that such reactions are expected in a competitive political environment. He noted that in a party with 11 capable individuals vying for one position, it was inevitable that not everyone would be satisfied with the result.

Alli explained that the APC has established a committee to address the concerns of aggrieved aspirants and party members. He stressed that all candidates were qualified, but the party had to make a single choice. “All of us were qualified for the position,” he said. “APC has the best aspirants. I am the gubernatorial candidate of APC. The APC has uploaded my information.” His remarks underscored the party’s confidence in his candidacy and its commitment to transparency.

To foster unity, Alli revealed he has been holding regular meetings with aggrieved aspirants and members. He specifically mentioned meeting with one of the G6 members, a group of prominent aspirants who had expressed dissatisfaction with the primary process. These efforts, he said, are aimed at building consensus and ensuring a united front for the upcoming elections. “I want to assure you all that grievances from the fallout of the gubernatorial primary election of the party in the state would soon be resolved,” he added.

The APC’s internal reconciliation process highlights the party’s focus on cohesion and strategic planning for the 2027 elections. As Oyo State prepares for another electoral cycle, the party’s ability to manage internal dynamics will be crucial to its chances of success. Alli’s leadership and outreach efforts signal a move toward unity and collective purpose as the APC gears up to reclaim the state.
