Police Arrest 10 Suspects in Murder of Miyetti Allah Chairman Ardo Risku

The Benue State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with the killing of Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed, Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Benue State, and Yakubu Isa, in a coordinated operation conducted on the night of June 27, 2026, in Otukpo. The arrests followed extensive intelligence gathering and tactical operations by police operatives, marking a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the gruesome killings. The suspects, whose identities have been confirmed, include Titus Thyodenda (25), Utibe Sam (20), Owoicho Ameh (18), Sunday Useni (21), Sunday Ogbanje (46), Daniel Raphael (23), Adokole John (24), Samuel Ogazi (32), Agbo Daniel (25), and Onazi James (30).

In a statement released on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, the Command emphasized that the arrests were the result of diligent work by investigative and tactical units. The statement noted that the suspects were apprehended after a series of surveillance and intelligence-driven actions that led to their identification and capture. The police described the operation as a major milestone in the pursuit of justice for the victims.

Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Cletus C.N. Nwadiogbu, praised the efforts of the tactical teams and investigators for their professionalism and swift response.
