CAP Plc Appoints Jethro Iruobe as Executive Director and New Company Secretary

Chemical and Allied Products Plc (CAP Plc), a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc, has announced significant leadership changes, including the appointment of Jethro Iruobe as Executive Director and Olutola Bella as the new Company Secretary, effective from June 25, 2026 and July 13, 2026 respectively. The appointments, approved by the Board of Directors, are part of the company’s broader strategy to enhance executive leadership and strengthen corporate governance. These changes come as CAP Plc continues to position itself for growth in Nigeria’s competitive paints and coatings sector.

Jethro Iruobe, currently Chief Operating Officer, will take on the role of Executive Director, bringing with him a wealth of experience in human resources, corporate communications, fleet management, and commercial excellence. His appointment follows a steady rise within the company since joining in 2019 as Head of Human Resources. Before CAP Plc, Iruobe held key leadership positions at KPMG, Promasidor Nigeria, Coca-Cola HBC, and TGI Nigeria, where he led organisational development and business transformation projects. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Benin and an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School, UK. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certification.

In his new role, Iruobe will support the Board and executive management in shaping the company’s strategic direction, driving operational efficiency, and fostering long-term value creation. His experience across banking, consulting, and manufacturing sectors positions him well to lead CAP Plc through its next phase of growth.

Meanwhile, Aramide Nwokediuko will step down as Company Secretary on July 13, 2026, after being appointed to a new executive role within the UAC Group. She will be succeeded by Olutola Bella, who currently serves as General Counsel at CAP Plc. In his new capacity, Bella will oversee corporate governance, board secretariat functions, and ensure regulatory compliance across the organisation. He brings over 18 years of legal and corporate advisory experience, having previously worked at DealWorks Advisory, Moove, and Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc. He also practised commercial law at prominent firms such as Banwo & Ighodalo and Aluko & Oyebode.

Bella holds a Bachelor of Laws from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Master of Laws from the University of Cambridge. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007 and has completed several executive leadership and governance programmes. His deep legal expertise and understanding of corporate governance will be vital in maintaining CAP Plc’s compliance and strategic integrity.

The Board of Directors has expressed confidence in both executives, stating that their leadership will support the company’s strategic objectives and long-term growth. These changes underscore CAP Plc’s commitment to building a robust leadership team capable of navigating industry challenges and capitalising on emerging opportunities in Nigeria’s paints and coatings market. The company is poised to deliver sustainable value to shareholders under this new leadership structure.
