Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has expressed strong confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, stating that divine guidance will continue to support the administration until 2031 as it works to advance national development. Speaking during an inspection tour of ongoing bridge projects in Lagos State, Umahi emphasized the government’s commitment to tackling infrastructure and security challenges with determination and faith. The visit included the Carter Bridge, which is set to begin reconstruction next week as part of the federal government’s infrastructure renewal agenda.
Umahi made the remarks on Thursday, highlighting the importance of national unity and cooperation in overcoming current security issues. He stressed that the same God who brought President Tinubu into power would continue to provide wisdom and strength to address the nation’s problems. “The same God that brought him is going to be there to solve all the problems,” Umahi said, urging Nigerians to support the administration in its efforts to restore peace and stability.
He acknowledged that no leader desires instability during their tenure but emphasized that responsible leadership requires direct confrontation of crises when they arise. “There is no leader who will not want his reign to be peaceful, but when crises come, the leader must confront them. That is exactly what we are doing,” he stated. Umahi added that whether security challenges are politically motivated or not, the administration remains focused on finding lasting solutions with divine guidance.
The minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completing all projects initiated under President Tinubu’s leadership. “Your hands that have started this will complete it,” Umahi declared, underscoring the administration’s resolve to deliver on its infrastructure promises. He noted that the Carter Bridge reconstruction, expected to be completed within three years, falls within the government’s five-year development plan.
Umahi’s visit to Lagos State underscores the federal government’s focus on improving critical transportation infrastructure across the country. The Carter Bridge project, once completed, is expected to ease traffic congestion and enhance connectivity in the region. His remarks also reflect broader government optimism about the nation’s future under Tinubu’s leadership, grounded in faith and a commitment to action.
As Nigeria continues to face multifaceted challenges, Umahi’s message reinforces the administration’s belief in perseverance, divine support, and national unity. The ongoing infrastructure projects symbolize a long-term vision for economic growth and improved quality of life for all Nigerians. With the Carter Bridge and other developments advancing, the government aims to build a more resilient and connected nation by 2031.
